Background
SYLVIE
Sylvie is a young girl whose life was stolen from her when she was chosen as the sacrificial vessel for a forbidden ritual. For that purpose, she was infected with Metastatic Stygium Conversion Syndrome (Stygiosis), an illness that left her with stone growths on her skin and inside her body—however, before the ceremony could be completed, the temple where it was taking place was violently attacked and reduced to ruins. Though the assault spared her from becoming an offering, it left her body shattered, and the half-finished ritual allowed an otherworldly being to invade what remained of her. Barely clinging to life, she was discovered among the rubble by a wandering scavenger, who refused to abandon her and nursed her back from the brink of death.
The entity residing within her grants tremendous power, but at a terrible cost. Whenever she experiences overwhelming pain or fear, the entity seizes control, twisting her body into a monstrous form driven by instinct and violence. In this possessed state, her strength and resilience become terrifying, yet she has little to no control over her own actions, often awakening afterward with only fragmented memories of the destruction she caused.

シルビィは、禁忌の儀式の生贄の器として選ばれたことで、人生を奪われた幼い少女である。その目的のため、彼女の身体にはスティギウム転換症候群（スティギウム症）という病が宿された。それは皮膚や体内に石のような異質な増殖物を生じさせる病であった――しかし、儀式が完遂される前に、その場となっていた神殿は凄惨な襲撃を受け、跡形もなく崩れ去った。襲撃によって彼女は生贄となる運命からは逃れたものの、その代償として身体は壊れ、未完成の儀式は彼女の中に異界の存在を招き入れてしまった。かろうじて命を繋いでいた彼女は、瓦礫の中で放浪のスカベンジャーに発見される。その者は彼女を見捨てることを選ばず、死の淵から生還するまで懸命に世話をした。
彼女の内に宿る存在は、絶大な力を与える一方で、あまりにも大きな代償を要求する。耐え難い苦痛や恐怖に襲われた時、その存在は彼女の身体を奪い、本能と暴力に支配された異形の姿へと変貌させる。その憑依状態では、彼女の力と生命力は恐るべきものとなるが、自らの行動をほとんど制御することはできない。そして多くの場合、彼女が目を覚ます時に残されているのは、自らが引き起こした破壊の断片的な記憶だけである。
